The company Kawasaki was founded by Shozo Kawasaki under the name Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The company started building ships, railroad rolling stock and electrical generating plants. Kawasaki Motorcycles is its diversified version of the parent company and it has plants in Japan, USA, Philippines, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Thailand. Kawasaki entered in to the Indian market in 2009 with an alliance with Bajaj Motorcycles and started assembling models in Bajaj’s factory. Kawasaki’s Ninja 250R is its first bike in Indian market and it is followed by Z250, Ninja 300, Ninja 400, Ninja 650, Z650, Versys 650, ZX-10R and Ninja 1000.
It has been more than half a century since Kawasaki started full-scale production of motorcycles. Their first motorcycle engine was based on techniques of air craft engines. In the late 60’s and early 70’s Kawasaki introduced most powerful engines on two wheels. In 1961 Kawasaki produced its first complete motorcycle-the B8 125 cc two-stroke. A series of two-stroke models from 50-250 cc followed it. In 1983 Kawasaki surprised the world with its new liquid-cooled four-valve GPz900R Ninja and it is followed by first ZXR designated 750 cc race bikes.
Kawasaki sells most of their famous bikes in India that includes the Ninja H2R. It has recently entered into the dirt bike segment with various models from 100 cc to 450 cc.
