About Aprilia
Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle company that established after World War II in Noale Italy. Alberto Beggio began the small two wheeler factory and later in 1968 his son Ivano took the leadership and later Aprilia became one of the world’s most famous motorcycle companies. The company’s first motorbike was a gold and blue 50cc model and it was followed by the Colibri and Daniela models. In 1974 Aprilia introduced the RC125, the first competitive machine and in the following year Aprilia released racing bikes. In 1985 Aprilia entered MotoGP and in 1987 it won the first Grand Prix racing. With 294 Grand Prix races won in Road Racing World Championship, Aprilia holds the record for the most wins of any European manufacturer in the history of maximum motorcycle competition.
By 2004 December Aprilia became part of the Piaggio Group, the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer. With Aprilia, the Piaggio Group yearns for strengthening the company’s position as a motorcycle/ scooter market leader. Aprilia’s Shiver 750 is the first production bikes with ride-by-wire electronic throttle and Mana 850 is the first to have a fully electronic automatic gearbox. In 2008 February Aprilia introduced the RSV4 which marked its return to World Superbike. Since its launch it has been winning races. India got the Aprilia bikes from 2016 onwards and the parent company Piaggio introduced the brand in India.
