Honda has launched CBR500R with the other 500 cc series, CB500X and CB500F at the 2013 EICMA event at Milan. It is the fully faired version of the CB500F. The CBR500R takes inspiration from the bigger bikes; it gets twin sleek LED headlamps, a tall visor and a fully digital instrument cluster. The sculpted looking fuel tank could store 16.7litres of fuel. The narrow tail section with rear LED light and the ergonomically designed seat enhance its comfort and performance as well.
Honda CBR500R is powered by 471 cc twin cylinder liquid cooled fuel injected engine that could deliver 46.9bhp power and 43Nm torque and the engine is mated to six speed transmission. Upside front forks and mono shock in rear do the suspension duties, safety is ensured with front and rear disc brakes. It will be equipped with dual channel ABS for an enhanced safety.
Kawasaki Ninja 650 will be its challenger in the Indian market.
