FIAT India was originally incorporated in the year 1997. The company is a 50-50 Joint Venture between Fiat Group of Italy and TATA Motors, India. Fiat, earlier in partnership with Premier Automobiles, used to sell Premier Padmini (Fiat 1100), Premier 118NE (Fiat 124) cars in India...Fiat's manufacturing plant is located at Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. The company started by selling Fiat UNO followed by Fiat Sienna and Fiat Palio. Production of all these 3 models were discontinued and currently the company manufactures the models Fiat Linea and Fiat Grande Punto in India. Fiat Cars in India are sold and serviced by TATA Motors.

Fiat now offers 11 models of cars in India. Of it Fiat Palio, Fiat Linea and Fiat Grande Punto are manufactured in India and Fiat 500 is imported as it is. Tata Motors provide sales and services for Fiat Cars in India.
