India-Canada row: Ottawa seeks private dialogue as Delhi demands reduction in diplomatic staff

Amid the crisis between India and Canada over the killing of K-separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, India had asked Canada to repatriate the diplomats to 41 by October 10, the Financial Times reported. In response, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said, 'Canada wants private talks with India to resolve a diplomatic dispute over the murder of a Sikh separatist leader.'
