Kamada Ekadashi – 19 April 2024
Kamada Ekadashi, or the Chaitra Shukla Ekadashi, observed in honour of Sri Krishna is the first Ekadashi that falls after the Hindu New Year. The Ekadashi is on the Shukla Paksha during the Chaitra month, of the Hindu calendar. The upcoming Kamada Ekadashi is on 19th April 2024.
On April 19th, the sun rises at 06:06 AM and sets at 06:45 PM. The Parana Timing commences at 06:05 AM and ends at 08:37 AM. The Hari Vasara ends at 02:44 AM and the Dwadashi Tithi ends at 10:42 PM on the following day.
The Ekadashi that falls in the Shukla Paksha phase of the moon in the Chaitra month is considered the most auspicious period to seek redemption. Devotees worship Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna, observe fasting, chant mantras and bhajans, listen to the Kamada Ekadashi Vrat Katha, and read the Vishnu Sahastranaam on this auspicious day.
Keeping the Kamada Ekadashi vrat is believed to bring many positive attributes to one’s life. The vrat helps a person to regain and improve virtues, couples can be blessed with offspring and protect family members from all adversities.
