Engineering has become the prime career option for students in India. IIT (Indian Institute of Technology)

IIT is the most popular and renowned engineering institute in India. The name IIT doesn’t refer to any single institution but a group of autonomous engineering and technology institutes of technological studies. The Institute of technology act 1996 has declared the IITs as ‘institutions of national importance. The IITs are established with the aim of training engineers and scientists to support the scientific growth of India. There are seven IITs in India, namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee. Apart from these main IITs there are few later additions in other parts of the country. IITs are administered by IIT council. IIT-JEE is the common admission examination to get admitted into the IITs. Around 800 students are admitted into various courses each year.

BITS Pilani (Birla Institute of Technology and Science)

Birla Institute of Technology and Science also known as BITS Pilani is located at Pilani in the Indian state of Rajasthan. With 15 academic departments, the BITS remain one of the world class institutes in India. BITS Pilani offers courses in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Electronics & instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc… The institute features world class Professors, readers, lecturers, etc. With great track record of International placement, the institute is the right place for students to complete the studies in engineering and for companies to recruit trained and professional engineers.

College of Engineering, Anna University, Guindy

Located at the Indian state of Tamilnadu, the college of engineering under Anna University is one of the top level institutions of technology and science. The institute was established in the year 1794, ever since the beginning, the college excels in academic professionalism and world class facilities. Also known as CEG, the college offers undergraduate engineering degree in the fields of Agricultural & Irrigation Engineering, Bio Medical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, and Printing Technology. The college also offers postgraduate courses like MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Sc. and M.Tech.

NIT (National Institute of Technology)

Located at Warangal in India, the NIT offers engineering courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. NIT was formerly known as RECW (regional Engineering College Warangal). NIT was founded by the first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. This was the first among the 17 regional engineering colleges founded by him. NIT offers undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Material Science Engineering, Biotechnology. In addition to engineering programs, post graduate programs are offered in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Management.
