The ever-maiden star of south-Indian cinema is definitely going places - Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Life in Pictures. With just seven years of tinsel town career, she has made it bigger than anyone else in the money-plush Tamil and Telugu industry.
Tamil and Telugu film industries

This heart throb of South Indian cinema has acted in more than 35 films in Tamil and Telugu film industries - within just a career-span of seven years.
Filmfare awards

Adding three Filmfare awards to her credit and barely just three years into the Telugu film industry, the 25-year-old has already delivered five big hits and identifies “hardwork” as her biggest quality.
School from T. Nagar, Chennai

She completed her school from T. Nagar, Chennai and holds a degree in Commerce from the famous Stella Maris College. The actress got into modelling during the last year of her college as a part time job and became noted while appearing for Naidu Hall, a famous retail chain specializing in women’s wear.
Her debut

Samantha made her debut as an actress in Gautham Menon’s 2010 movie, ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’, the Telugu remake of ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’, with Naga Chaitanya in the leading male role. She received her first Filmfare award for the film and has always credited Gautam menon for turning her into cinema material..
Big budget films

Following her success in Tollywood, she went on to do big budget films like ‘Eega’, for which she was critically acclaimed.
Along with superstars

After rising to fame, she acted alongside superstars like Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu in ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ and along Pawan Kalyan in ‘Attarintiki Daredi’. Both of them turned out to be high-grossing super hits at the box office.
Next-door girl

However 2012 proved to be a tough year for this "next-door girl" when she totally blacked out from film shooting and public appearances, owing to certain medical conditions.
I was very selfish

"When I was going through it, it was hell. But now that I am out of it, I've changed as a person. Before those two months of agony, I was very selfish, it was all about the girl in the mirror. There was nothing more deeper. Earlier, I thought my highs were permanent. My universe revolved around how I look today or how I should look better in my next film. But when I hit the lowest of my lows, I realized anything can happen to you anytime, why am I obsessed about a pimple or a bad tan? My
Sam-Sid

Sam-Sid: Yes, this peppy, elegant actress found the love of her life in the young ravishing Kaviyathalaivan-actor Siddarth Suryanarayan. It was after their movie together in 2013, "Jabardast" that these two got hitched. The cute couple went raving across in fans' hearts across Tamil Nadu as Sam-Sid. The relation was however broken after 2 years, due to unknown reasons even though both of them took it to twitter to note it.
Bold lady

Samantha is but a bold lady. In the Indian cinema industry, where actresses are always the weaker category, it is a common scene for young actresses to walk into sets with their mothers or parents. Samantha is never in that lot. She individually leads her actress' life in her home at Chennai.
Take all the calls herself

"When it comes to my life, especially my career, I take all the calls myself. It has always been that way since I was a child. I don't come from a very rich family where I was pampered and molly-coddled. Being street-smart and independent was a necessity. I've been doing things on my own ever since I can remember. That's why you'll never find my mom hanging around the sets while I am working. In fact, I find that whole notion quite ridiculous. I don't think you'd take your mom or dad along if you work in a software company. Why, even children aren't allowed to take their parents to school with them", says the actress.
Controversies

She is never known to shy away from controversies either - in fact she has made some of the biggest controversies from recent past, that too against her male counterparts from cinema. She once got in the way of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu fans' anger, when she tweeted on his new film poster on how regressive the poster is to women. (the poster showed actress Kriti Sanon at the feet of Mahesh Babu)
Charity NGO named ‘Pratyusha Support’

Always lamenting about her lost privacy and impressing repeatedly on how private a person she is, this actress is rather very serious about her social commitments and activities. Samantha runs a charity NGO named ‘Pratyusha Support’ with Padmashri Dr. Manjula Anagani. The trust conducts blood donation campaigns, free surgeries for children and help support their dreams. Samantha reached an agreement with Andhra Hospitals in 2015 to sponsor the vaccinations for children.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya began dating in 2015 and got engaged to each other in a private ceremony in Hyderabad last month. The couple first appeared together onscreen in ‘Ye Maaya Chesave,’ Samantha’s debut movie. The Akkineni and Prabhu family belong to different religious backgrounds but they have all come in support for the couple deciding to put a ring on their relationship.
Thoughts of Marriage

This is what the actress has to say on marriage: "I am one of those girls who'll put everything else on hold when it's time to start a family. So whenever I am ready, I will hang my boots and say thank you very much. It is easy for me to want to be successful and famous and do all of this because at some level, it is a very selfish thing. But when I look at my mom, I realize that being a mother and a wife are totally selfless acts and it is a much bigger accomplishment."
Upcoming Projects

The actress' upcoming projects include "Irumbu Thirai " where she will star opposite Vishal and Arjun and 'The attack' where she will be seen pairing with Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam actor Fahadh Fasil.
