It is Christmas time and leftovers are a part and parcel of this beautiful festival. Yeah, mommies make a lot to feed the families and even their guests.
Still, something is always left back. I never remember a time, when we cooked just the right amount. It always felt good to open up the refrigerator and find the tasty morsels of food to munch on!
Still, sometimes, if the leftover is a medley of sauces and custards, and then plenty of plum cakes- what do you do?
So, here are a few tips are that may prove to be of good use to you. Take a Look!

Plum Ice Balls
These are cute balls you can serve your family and friends at any party after the grand Christmas feast. Make it ahead and freeze up!
Serves: 2-4 people
What you’ll need:
- Few Straws
- plum cake – about 500 grams of plum cake
- Frozen Vanilla Icecream- as needed
- Coloured Sprinkles- as needed
- Small fruit scoop and one bug ice cream scoop
Directions
- Scoop out a plum cake, then then scoop out a large icecream ball too.
- Gently insert the cake into the ice cream ball and shape quickly into a neat ball.
- Insert a straw into the ball.
- Dip into a plate of sprinkles and freeze until ready to serve.
Tips: You can use chocolate chips or chopped nuts for garnish also. Try the same recipe with plain tea cakes or chocolate cakes. Try any ice cream that you like too. The mix match combinations are plenty if you love creative fun filled food!

Crepe Rolls
Oh, Christmas is over and you are up for another round of breakfast. So if you are lazy to bake that lovely bread we’ll give you something sweet and easy to lick on! This recipe calls for leftover fruits, some custard or whipping cream that you have in stock.
Serves: 2-4 people
What you’ll need:
- Crepe batter- 16 ounces pack
- A bowl of custard of whipping cream
- some mixed fruits or a tin of canned fruits
Directions
- Make your crepe in a flat pan. Once the crepes are done, leave to cool.
- Then pamper each one with a heavenly dollop if custard or whipping cream.
- Spread a few chopped fruits onto the custard layer.
- The roll this gently and then slice into 1 inch rolls
- Serve with more fruits and enjoy immediately.
Tips: You can always add in nuts, or marshmallows into your rolls and even some maple syrup to add an extra sweetness to the plate!

Bowl Of Goodness
A lot of love and care goes into each meal, and when it is the festive season this needless to say! What if you have a lil of every meat: Like a handful of chicken, veal, pork, and maybe some seafood. What do you do?
Serves: 2-4 people
What you’ll need:
- Instant Noodles- four cakes
- Some veggies of your liking- a bowl
- Any cooked roast meats, poultry and seafood- a bowl
- Water- 1 litre
Directions
- Boil water, add seasoning to your preference.
- This could include chilli flakes, garlic and onion powder, any soup mix that you like and so on.
- Then add the chopped meats and veggies.
- Let it boil. Finally add noodles and once it gets just cooked, take off from heat.
Tips: You can use angel hair pasta if you like for this recipe. If you are out for a vegan recipe, try adding mushrooms and tofu cubes in it. The Yum wave will hit into your taste buds.

Mixed Spicy Fingers
Is there anyone who does not like spicy appetizers? I truly doubt! If you have a party tonight, get these few ingredients from your pantry and get cookin some class lip smackers!
Serves: 4- 6 people
What you’ll need:
- Roast Chicken strips- 1 bowl
- Roast Beef strips- 1 bowl
- Cooked Fish strips- 1 bowl
- Squid Rings- 1 bowl
- Mushroom slices- 1 bowl
- Carrot sticks- 1 bowl
- Baby Corn- 1 bowl
- Bread crumbs- as needed
- Flour- 1/2 cup
- Egg- 2 nos
- Milk- 1/2 cup
- Paprika- 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder- 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder- 1 teaspoon
- pepper powder- 1 teaspoon
- oregano powder- 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
Directions
- In a bowl add paprika, garlic powder, onion powder., pepper and oregano and salt into the breadcrumbs and mix well.
- Beat eggs and milk well, Then add flour and mix until there are no lumps.
- Dip each strip of meat or poultry into the flour batter and then in the breadcrumbs.
- Do the same for all the vegetables and non vegetarian food items that you have.
- Heat oil and then deep fry all the coated pieces until golden brown.
Tips: You can try even potatoes or pumpkins for this recipe. If you like a spice free dish, omit the paprika and pepper. Enjoy it hot with mayonnaise and some salad and beets!
